How to update Divebud firmware

Generally updating over the air is a sensitive operation, please pay attention to the details described below. We highly recommend you watch the video first. The whole operation should take a couple of minutes.

Get all required software

  1. Download nRF-Connect (advanced Bluetooth interacting app):
    1. Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp

  2. Download firmware update diveBud_xxx.ZIP file.

Follow the steps

  1. Charge your phone 50% or more.
  2. Charge your Divebud till over 6 hours.
  3. Close all apps on the phone.
  4.  Download the firmware file from email.
  5. Download the nRF-Connect app.
  6. Open the nRF-Connect.
  7. Go to the bonded devices, you should see DiveBud-XXX there (this is your device).
  8. Connect to it.
  9. Press the DFU button. Rounded button on the top right of the screen.
  10. Choose the “ZIP package” .
  11. Choose the file with the firmware that you got at step 4.
  12. Wait for the upload ~ 1 minute.
  13. After the update is finished your device will light the green light and make a sound.
  14. Try to connect to it using the DiveBud app and check the firmware version in the About page. (Connect to the device, press the top right corner button and press “About”. The version should show 2.X.X.
